Dance Creations Dance Studio (DCDS) was founded in 1991 by Janet Cripe, to offer a wide variety of dance instruction to dancers age two through adult. A family orientated dancing environment DCDS offers Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Gymnastics. After 25 years, our staff continues to strives to make each and every student feel important by instilling a sense of accomplishment and self-worth allowing them to reach their personal best.

Experienced and Structured Dance Classes. We wanted our kids to have fun, but in the meantime they are learning life skills at 8!! Classes for both BOYS and GIRLS are GREAT!!!

Janet Cripe and the entire DCDS crew are an inspiration to my 5 year old daughter who has been attending DCDS for 3 years now! Janet and her team�s creativity and passion for dance is admirable. My daughter has learned to learned to appreciate music and she has developed a basic understanding of rhythm and moving to the beat. Additionally, she has learned the importance of great listening skills and following instructions from the teacher which are important lifelong attributes. Our experiences at DCDS have been wonderful and we look forward to more of them!

When I was growing up, I was a gymnast. So when my one and only daughter told me she was not interested in tumbling and wanted to dance, it about broke my heart. However, my disappointment was short lived. Dance Creations Dance Studio has opened a whole new world of opportunity for daughter. She is poised, graceful, and her self esteem is apparent whenever she is on the stage. Dance has given her a sense of identity, and DCDS has become a second family to us both. Janet Cripe is a true artisan. I am continually amazed at her creativity year after year. The dances are fresh and fun, and any one who watches her dancers perform know the talent is due to the dance mistress. Janet mixes the right blend of structure with teaching. Any child or adult who has taken a class at her studio is a better person for it. Thanks, Dance Creations Dance Studio, for touching so many lives. Thank you for allowing us into yours.

Dance Creations Dance Studio was founded in 1991. DCDS is celebrating its 26th season of dance.

What is your primary product or service?
DCDS offers dance instruction to people 2-102!! We also offer music classes such as Drum, Guitar, Piano & Violin.

How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
At a young age, Janet began dancing at the Vitina Sansone School of Dance were she later assisted Vitina Sansone in all aspects of dance studio management. Having trained for more than 40 years in Ballet/Lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop, she has studied with some of the best instructors in the industry including Gus Giordano, Bob Rizzo, Scott Benson, Paula Abdul and the late Al Gilbert to name a few. She is an Early Childhood Specialist of the Duluth School of Ballet and finds true inspiration in her student�s daily.

How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Dance Creations Dance Studio (DCDS) offers the most unique and diverse dance programs in the area. Building a strong foundation in a structured classroom environment is our philosophy. In this, we believe that every dancer, recreational or intensive, will develop a passion for the art of dance. In 2008 a children's performance Company, DCDS In Motion, was established for the Dance Creations Dance Studio dancers. Our mission is to create an environment for our dancers to expand their talents, enjoy performance type activities, and learn priceless lessons by participating in various projects to help others in our community. To date DCDS In Motion has donated more than $10,000.00 to the Illinois Chapter of The Red Cross, The United breat Cancer Foundation and The Make A Wish Foundation.
